Each piece is a journey, a world of transformation to balance, to chaos, to madness, to freedom, to exile, to magic, to love. Each piece is a volume, a path, a border, a story, a world of silence, an atmosphere of mystery and feelings, where a world of fragmented forms is created, of geography by nature, making a great mountain.
My jewels are a hidden world to discover, lost memories, forgotten memories that try to create awareness for a positive change in the planet by reusing slides and postage stamps no longer used, some materials become obsolete with the passage of time.
The vast majority of them end up in garbage cans, which increases environmental pollution.
My works have a firm and creative form, with deliberately intentional imperfections, far from any mechanical manipulation. I am interested in combining traditional techniques with contemporary elements.
I am Aldri creator and passionate about the world of jewelry. I was born in Caracas Venezuela. Although I emigrated 25 years ago, my heart is always there. I have lived in several countries and finally my feet have been anchored in Switzerland for 10 years.
Traveling is an uncontrollable pleasure, it disconnects me and enriches me to know places and people from other parts of the world, it is a source of satisfaction that allows me to deepen and create with passion. I love nature, the big and calm mountains and of course all animals.
I have a company of digitalization of photographs, in which 80% of the material (slides, negatives) end up in the containers and I reuse it to make different jewels.
My first encounter with art was when I studied sculpture and ceramic lathe at the Escuela de Bellas Artes Cristóbal Rojas in Caracas. With Professor Edgar Zabala then I attended the sculpture workshop in stone and plaster with Professor Gerzon Zambrano. I attended workshops at the glass school farm in Madrid, I always ended up making small pieces in jewelry.
Curious to learn how to work metal and glass, I studied jewelry at the Cándido Millán School, where I learned the techniques of traditional jewelry. I attended the Stilo 2 Jewelry School in Santander, Spain, with goldsmith Miguel Perez, where I discovered Contemporary Jewelry. My search for my own language began. I continued to deepen concepts of glass design in Silvia Levenzon’s workshop in Italy, where I learned different techniques of glass work and silkscreen printing. In Argentina with Professor Eduardo Naveira I also attended his glass workshop.
Currently I continue my training by attending workshops and seminars related to the creation of collections and design projects in the world of jewelry with biomaterials.
Creativity is the force that drives me in life. I am passionate about the rudimentary, the nature of materials, imprecision and the magic of transformation and reuse.
